Difference between each leather type. - ProBoards
The lamb is a soft dress leather. Which is not a bad thing per se, but it tends to be used for more 'dressed up' jackets and is not really intended for rough handling. That being said mine is nearly 6 years old and the leather has held up nicely.

SOAKING LEATHER AND PUTTING IT IN DRYER??? - ProBoards
I have a standard way of breaking in all new leather jackets that I get. I wear them constantly - in the house and when I go out. I throw them in a heap on the floor when I take them off. If I'm not wearing the jacket I bunch it into a ball and sit on it like a cushion. If it gets wet from the rain I screw it into a ball an let it dry like that.

The End of Nowak Leather - indylounge.proboards.com
Maria (Tony's widow) and I have had numerous long discussions, and we can not see a viable future in leather. SO this is a last call for jackets, please DON'T hesitate to contact me using NOWAKPADAWAN@AOL.COM to get the ball rolling.

Custom leather work
Although he is new to the web he is not new to leather work with decades of experience under his belt. His saddles are extremly well made and his chaps have been worn by some of the biggest name bull riders in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association including Ty Murray.

How should I care for lambskin leather? - ProBoards
Now that I've got my lambskin Indiana Jones jacket, I need to take good care of it. I need to know all of the tips and things about lambskin leather care. Should I apply any kind of leather protection like Pecards, and if so, how often? I want to stress that I DO NOT want to artificially distress this jacket in any way.

Conditioning leather (not distressing) - ProBoards
Honestly, I would pick up a small bottle of leather lotion at Burlington Coat Factory, Wilson Leather, or some other local store. It will save you money without paying shipping, and will do a nice job adding a light coat of moisture to the hide to prevent drying out.

Elks add drop sites to boost deer hide collection for gloves
Last year Maryville Lodge 760 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks collected 102 hides for the Elks’ National Veterans Leather Program using two local drop sites. Exalted Ruler John Nelson thinks the local lodge can do a lot better than that, and to help achieve a goal of growing the number by as much as 100 percent, six drop sites ...

Question regarding leather types
Lamb is a soft leather the grade Wested uses is a fine nappa it is designed as a luxury leather really so looks good, drapes softly and is lightweight. It is not particularly strong or puncture resistant. If you want a strong but light(ish) leather look at goat.

how to age & distress your brand new indy holster - ProBoards
I just used the rough side of a scouring pad in small circles to wear away the shiny surface of leather to make it look worn, but nothing like that. I have used methods of burning leather to make it look older, but wouldnt reccomend it to people who don't like fire, i set fire to a home made leather waistcoat to make a part of a zombie costume ...
