Tannery Degreaser on bear ??? | Taxidermy.net Forum
For the most part understanding skin structure is important, the first part of tanning is the pickle ,its a very important part of the tanning process,it is were all the undesirable constituents are flushed from the hide, natural glues, proteins ,fats, surrounding and inside the collagen fibers, so they are free so the tanning agent whatever you use will bond to them.

I only use the Leslie tannery, the alum tan I hook up with their semi for pickup and delivery which save me thousands on shipping Global studio for 44 yrs and I have tried every professional tannery out there and the alum tan is the best in my opinion and I have had them tan just about every game animal on the planet multiple times

Tannery - Taxidermy.net Forum
I’m looking for a reputable tannery to send two deer hides to, they are salted and dried. I’ve read a lot of conflicting information on Google and would love some suggestions. Nov 1, 2023 #2

Dry Tan / Wet Tan: Questions we need to answer. - Taxidermy.net Forum
The tannery is located in a modern metal building on the industrial side of town. The receiving dock looks similar to all other businesses, but that's where it all ends. What I saw inside, away from the administrative clerks with their computers and records files, was the exact same thing I saw over 40 years ago.

At What Point Do You Not Owe A Tannery Money?
I got a bunch of elk capes back from a tannery with holes they sewed up. One cape had several areas of stitches from 10 to 28" long and all puckered up. Most had 5 to 15 areas of stitches. Sent bears to another tannery, they came back with epidermal slippage over the entire heads and one had no nose pad.

Bobcats, Foxes, Skunks, Mink, Muskrats And More
Bobcats stretched and dried with feet on and ready for the tannery. Bobcat frozen whole. Raccoons frozen whole. Red Foxes case skinned and frozen for a life size mount. Good, blemish free foxes and also foxes with blemishes that are discounted. Let me know which version you’re interested in. Skunks case skinned and frozen for a life size mount.

Tanning self vs commercial | Taxidermy.net Forum
For me it was a time issue when I started as I had a full time job outside of my home. I continued using a tannery for all mammals after I went full time, as I could consentrate on other things but I had some issues with a couple tanneries like taking forever, that I could somewhat deal with but when it came to ruining capes and skins on top of that, it forced me to start doing my own.

Marking your hides for tanneries | Taxidermy.net Forum
It is one of the type of questions you should ask before choosing a tanner. Oldshaver has covered the topic of "Questions to ask and Things to consider when picking a tannery". Check out the hides that a tannery will bring to state and regional shows and see if you can tell if the "squaring off" on back legs and long front legs is happening.
